TKL, Austrian market leader of temperature-controlled logistics for the food segment, expands its business and relies on the expertise and technologies of the swiss multinational company in the intralogistics sector, Swisslog, for implementing its new automated deep-freeze warehouse in Vienna.

The project, which is becoming operational in the autumn of 2023, consists of an automated high bay warehouse for pallets and an electric monorail system which will also provide a semi-automated picking system. The whole system is able to operate at an environmental temperature of minus 22 degree Celsius.
The various operations will be orchestrated by SynQ, warehouse management software by Swisslog.

Growing “at the Time of Coronavirus”

Frozen food segment has constantly grown over the past few years and has had a push forward since the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak” says Wilhelm Leithner, TKL managing partner, while explaining the investment decision of his company, adding: “Frozen food consumption among families keeps on growing, with the result that also TKL customers of the food segment have reported an increased demand”.

Austrian market leader of temperature-controlled logistics entrusted the project to Swisslog because: “the company has an extensive experience in the logistics for food and frozen food and submitted a convincing project with high performance technologies“, concludes Leithner.
